In the deserts of Namibia, Southwest Africa, there is a popular amazement. . . . and it “barks”!!??

Their communication methods have also been described as squeaks, croaks, clicks ~ altogether a wide range of sounds. Baffling noise in the dead of a desert night from these five inch long marvels known as the Namib Dune Gecko (Pachydactylus rangei) aka Palmato gecko or Web Footed gecko.

I didn’t realize how tiny this little creature was until you showed it up next to your camera. Their eyes are a little creepy; otherwise, they are cute.

I totally know what you mean – I am thinking it was like deer in the headlights. Keeping cool on the outside, still as can be, wishing desperately to be set free. 😉
