As the days gets warmer, the mornings get earlier in my desert world. I have become an avid gardener and it has renewed my daily perspective of living and loving out here in our desert. Our garden babies are welcoming another day of growth and need their dose of water life to face the bright desert sun.
Or let us venture into the transcendence and envision the eagerness of nature to embrace the warm love of a new day. It is so easy to fall into poetic thought when gazing at these fantastic mornings to remember in the desert. Shared moments that I so appreciate, because I go to bed every night with visions of one morning waking up and having the time to capture a few of my own. My current mornings are fortunately full of young bellies to attend to – two-legged, four-legged, and roots and all! All joys of my life that need my attention to start their precious days on the right foot, so my own sunrise captures will have to wait for another time in my life.
For now, let’s sit back and enjoy the desert love of these amazing photographers.

Music and beautiful images go hand in hand in my book, so here’s a diddy that inspired me to do this post . . .

“A Beautiful Morning” is a song written by Felix Cavaliere and Eddie Brigati and recorded by The Rascals. Coming out in early 1968

It’s a beautiful mornin’, ahhh
I think I’ll go outside a while
And jus’ smile
Just take in some clean fresh air, boy
Ain’t no sense in stayin’ inside
If the weather’s fine an’ you got the time
It’s your chance to wake up and plan another brand new day
Either way
It’s a beautiful mornin’, ahhh
Each bird keeps singin’ his own song
So long
I’ve got to be on my way, now
Ain’t no fun just hangin’ around
I’ve got to cover ground, you couldn’t keep me down
It just ain’t no good if the sun shines
When you’re still inside
Shouldn’t hide, still inside, shouldn’t hide
Ahhhh oh! (shouldn’t hide) ah ah oh

(Do do waaa, do do waaa)

There will be children with robins and flowers
Sunshine caresses each new waking hour
Seems to me that the people keep seeing
More and more each day, gotta say, lead the way
It’s okay, wednesday, thursday, it’s okay
(Ahhh) monday, wednesday, friday, weekday, ah ah ohhh

(Do do waaa)
Ah ah oh oh (do do aaaa)
Wooooo oo oo oh oh oh ah wo do waa
Ohhhhhhh .oh oh oh
And fade

Someone told me the other day, "The world has gone crazy and there's no escaping it . . . " Maybe its the mama-optimism in me, but I just raised my eyebrows and my heart ached a little with pity. Have they driven down our quiet, sweet desert roads . . .
Here's an article & image from WSJ about Big Bend and in particular Marfa, "cinematic landscapes that stretch unbroken to the horizon; cowboys presiding over art galleries; and sunsets that, at the smog-free altitude of nearly 5,000 feet, were the prettiest I’d ever seen. . . "
